Great news for Temporary Foreign Workers and their employers: from December 1st, 2021 all Vaccines accepted by WHO will be accepted by Canada as well. List includes:
- AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD (ChAdOx1-S, Vaxzevria, AZD1222)
- Bharat Biotech (Covaxin, BBV152 A, B, C)
- Janssen/Johnson & Johnson
- Moderna (mRNA-1273)
- Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty, tozinameran, BNT162b2)
- Sinopharm BIBP (BBIBP-CorV)
- Sinovac (CoronaVac, PiCoVacc)
To qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller, you must have received, at least 14 full days prior to the day you travel:
- at least 2 doses of a vaccine accepted by the Government of Canada for the purpose of travel
- or a mix of 2 accepted vaccines
- or at least 1 dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine
This basically means that Temporary Foreign Workers may be exempted from quarantine requirements unless:
- They are selected for Covid test at the airport and they test positive
- Any other reason as directed by CBSA Officer
Who needs to use ArriveCAN
All travelers, with limited exceptions, whether entering Canada by air, land, rail, or marine vessel, must use ArriveCAN unless you’re exempt from this requirement due to an accessibility need.
You’ll need to submit your information within 72 hours before your arrival to Canada.
