Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots           
Starting March 31. 2025.

 

The Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots for Child Care and Home Support facilitate the permanent immigration of skilled workers with job offers in these sectors to Canada. You may qualify to apply for permanent residency through these pilots if you possess:

 

– A full-time job offer in-home care

– Relevant work experience or training

– The necessary language proficiency and educational background

 

The following requirements must be met:

 

1. You must intend to reside and work in Canada, excluding Quebec.

 

2. You must fulfill the specific criteria for the stream to which you are applying.

To qualify for the Workers in Canada stream, you must:

– Be currently residing in Canada. While you may be outside Canada at the time of application (for instance, on vacation), you must demonstrate that your primary residence is in Canada.

– Hold authorization to work full-time in Canada in any occupation (excluding seasonal jobs) through a valid work permit.

 

3. You must satisfy the language requirement by taking a language test that confirms you meet the minimum Level 4 proficiency in all four language skills (writing, reading, listening, and speaking) in either English or French.

 

4. You must meet the educational requirement by having completed an equivalent to a Canadian high school diploma or higher. If your education was completed outside Canada, you will need to have your credentials assessed to confirm they are equivalent to a Canadian high school diploma (or higher).

 

5. You must possess sufficient relevant work experience or training. Eligible NOC codes include:

 

– Home child care providers (NOC 44100)

– Early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 42202)

– Home support workers, caregivers, and related occupations (NOC 44101)

– Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates (NOC 33102)

 

You are required to have a minimum of six months of continuous, full-time work experience, which can be obtained within or outside Canada in the past three years. Additionally, you must have received a credential for relevant training lasting at least six months, which must be at the post-secondary level, involve a minimum of 15 hours per week, and be conducted in an in-person classroom setting.

 

6. Possess a job offer as a home childcare provider or a home support worker:

 

– Home childcare providers (NOC 44100)

– The work environment must not be an institutional setting, such as a daycare.

– Employment as a foster parent is not considered valid.

– Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot: Home Support

– Home support workers, caregivers, and related professions (NOC 44101) – The work environment must not be an institutional setting, such as a nursing home.

 

7. While work experience and training in these NOCs may qualify, job offers for the following positions will not be accepted:

 

– Early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 42202)

– Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates (NOC 33102)

 

8. Be eligible for admission to Canada.
