What is Express Entry?
The express entry provides a pathway in all programs to invite qualified candidates within Canada or overseas to become permanent residents of Canada. Express Entry manages applications under three federal economic immigration programs. The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
Draws under these three programs were put on hold and paused the invitation to apply by the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) after the boarder closure and COVID-19 restrictions have been implemented worldwide. Which caused them a massive backlog in the application of permanent residence status.
According to Minister of Immigration they are building on surpassing their target of more than 405,000 permanent resident admissions in 2021, and for 2022-2024 plans to set out approximately 360,000- 445,000.
