LMIA program _ changes

LMIA recruitment _ changes

A few days ago, we observed the update on the Job Bank website concerning recruitment. This essentially indicates that an employer will need to review all resumes submitted through Direct Apply on the Job Bank that meet the advertisement criteria. I read somewhere that this must be done within 21 days.

As part of our services, we will access and download all resumes on your behalf within that period and can forward them to you upon your request. You can also access them by logging in to your Job Bank. By doing so, we will ensure that all advertisements remain active, allowing us to submit the LMIA application and maintain compliance with the program. As always, we will request the recruitment summary from you when we submit the LMIA application.

Also, during one of the recent interviews with Service Canada, the officer asked for a screenshot of email exchanges with applicants, following the employer’s confirmation that he utilized that method to reach out to candidates. Direct Apply _ New:

Job Bank’s Direct Apply allows registered job seekers who are authorized to work in Canada to apply directly to your Job Bank postings by submitting their resume. By using Direct Apply, you can:

  • Manage and store all resumes submitted through Job Bank
  • View and download all resumes for your record
  • You must consider job seeker applications submitted through Direct Apply.

Direct Apply is enabled by default. By disabling it or not considering Direct Apply applicants, you may be considered as not meeting the recruitment effort requirements.
